City of Odessa Plane Crash: Two Dead, Fire Extinguished
Fatal Incident at 68th and Stevenson Ave
On Tuesday morning, a tragic plane crash in Odessa, Texas, claimed the lives of two individuals. The aircraft, which crashed around 7 am near the intersection of 68th and Stevenson Avenue, sparked a fire that was later extinguished.
Investigation and Victims
According to Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis, both victims were occupants of the crashed plane. An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
Previous Plane Crashes in the Area
This incident marks the second plane crash reported in Odessa in recent months. On August 20, Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a crash on the 6800 block of Alderfer.
Globally, plane crashes are a rare occurrence. However, in August, a plane fighting wildfires crashed on the Greek island of Evia, killing its two crew members.
In July, two people were killed in a small plane crash near Eatonville, Washington.
And in Oregon, a tanker plane involved in wildfire suppression efforts went missing in eastern Oregon.
