Tornadoes Ravage Chicago Area, Leaving Widespread Damage
Deadly Twisters Strike the Windy City
At least 11 tornadoes touched down in parts of the Chicago area Wednesday, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Two tornadoes were reported near Des Moines, Iowa, and another just outside O'Hare Airport. The Weather Service confirmed a tornado also touched down near Sugar Grove, Illinois.

The National Weather Service in Chicago issued 16 tornado warnings throughout the night, but the exact number of tornadoes that touched down is still being determined.
